But Mrs. Claus asked me to stay for a while
and Santa promised I'ld go home in style
I worked with the elves but their job was so fun
It seemed magically finished before I begun
The job completed I got in the sleigh
Cause Santa was dropping me home on his way
I was kind of sad when I waved to my new friends goodbye
But I'll never ever doubt again that raindeer do know how to fly
The flight was magic but it had to end
I just hope that next year I can do it again

But for now let me tell you what I had learned
Because that is the part where you all are concerned
The perfect gift is precious and rare
and it comes from the hearts of people who care
So I decided to tell you what I went through
Just to find a perfect present for you

I wanted to give you the perfect gift
Something wrapped in a box, to you from me
Something you could put under your tree
But the more I thought, the more I knew
Nothing put in a box, would be perfect for you

That is why I've gone out of my way
To wish you the best Christmas ever today
Because I appreciate the things that you do
and can't help but care about gypsies like you
